3. Data Storage and Security

Your account and app data (firing logs, schedules, kiln records) are stored securely in Google Firebase Firestore. Photos you upload to firing records are stored in Google Firebase Storage. All data is hosted in the United States.

Payment information is processed by Stripe and is never stored on our servers. Stripe is PCI DSS compliant.

We use industry-standard security measures including Firebase Authentication and Firestore Security Rules to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Google Firebase — for authentication, data storage, and photo storage
• Stripe — for payment processing
• Law enforcement — only when required by law

We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the My Kiln Journal app and website (mykilnjournal.com), operated by Angela's Glass Studio ("we," "our," or "us"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

My Kiln Journal is a subscription-based app for glass artists to log kiln firings, manage firing schedules, and track kiln maintenance. We offer:

• A free tier allowing up to 8 firing log entries
• A monthly subscription at $3.99/month
• An annual subscription at $39.99/year

Features and pricing are subject to change with reasonable notice to subscribers.

2. Account Registration

To use My Kiln Journal you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for:

• Keeping your password secure and confidential
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use at [email protected]

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

3. Subscriptions and Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you will retain access until then. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.

If a payment fails, we will attempt to notify you. Your account may be downgraded to the free tier if payment cannot be collected.

4. Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you create in My Kiln Journal — your firing logs, schedules, photos, and notes are yours. By using the app, you grant us a limited license to store and display your content for the purpose of providing the service.

We do not claim ownership of your data. You can export your data at any time using the Export Backup feature in Settings.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
• Reverse engineer, copy, or redistribute the app
• Use the app in any way that could damage or overburden our systems

6. Availability and Changes

We strive to keep My Kiln Journal available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We reserve the right to:

• Modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice
• Perform maintenance that may temporarily interrupt service
• Update these Terms — continued use after updates constitutes acceptance

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

My Kiln Journal is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free or uninterrupted. You use the app at your own risk.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Angela's Glass Studio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of My Kiln Journal, including but not limited to loss of data. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon termination, your data will be deleted from our servers within 30 days.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin.
